Haverstraw vs. SPBM vs. Patsy's

Maybe you G Dock guys spend more time pulling on things than we do at the other docks? BTW Thanks for the comment Mike...

I love it, 'D' dock vs. 'G' dock wars!!!!

The last thing I intend is to start a war with G dock I just find it interesting that from what I have seen at least for the people I have spoken to on D dock the don't seem nearly as unhappy as some I have spoken to on G dock.

Unfortunately misery loves company all it takes is a few people to complain about something and it spreads like wildfire. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that these people don't have good reason to complain I'm sure they have valid complaints and have every right to air them. What I am saying is sometimes hearing others complaining is enough to make then rethink weather or not they are happy where they are. I have fallen into that trap before and had to take a step back to recognize that life is good and I'm happy where I am. I wish everyone a happy season and hope you all make the most of what you have.

You can't speak for everyone on G dock, we are all long time friends who enjoy one another company which is why we stay, can't replace the friendships we made.

It is not my intent to speak for anyone at any dock. It was just an observation that most of the complaining I have read seems to come from G dock that said there is a larger number of members at least active ones from G dock.
I'm not trying to pass judgment or convince anyone of anything just stating what I see. It's unfortunate that we can't all be happy with what we have or where we are, however it not fair to assume that if you are not happy that other must not be as well. I'm glad to hear there are at least a few people who are happy what ever dock you are on.

A tug of war sounds like a fun event maybe during the next marina party.

BTW I would be happy to move on and change the topic and hope I have not offended anyone for stating how I feel. You all seem like a great bunch and the last thing I want is to piss people off. I'm sorry if it's too late.

Hi Todd!

When you have a chance give Tony (the generator guy)a call.He works at Patsy's. thanks.

Dave, it's just a numbers thing... There are more members here from G dock than others and most of us are some what active in HRCC...

I like SPBM, I have never had a problem.. I am sure if I had a problem i would feel different but for now I am good.

Only issue is the lack of water.. Not a fan of being a slave to the tides but it works for our family.

Beisde we usually all raft up together anyway so when the water is skinny we all deal with it the only way we can... Dock Party!!!

BTW.. Have you ever been to the marina party? The tug of war happens every year...
AND G DOCK ALWAYS WINS!!!!

I have been to the party the last couple of yours but I usually leave when the crowd starts getting a little to drink for comfort. Now that you mention it I seem to remember a tug a war but never gave much thought about the teams. once again glad to hear you too are happy. Deeper water would be great, I didn't give it much thought until I bought this boat. I guess you live and learn.

Didn' G Dock tie the tug-of-war rope to the travel-lift last year? :) Just kidding!

Now that G-docks "anchor" has lost over 80 pounds D-dock may have a shot. ;)

Leigh - Are you going to beat Todd in this year? or should we plan on Labor day for your arrival again?

Rob, I can always count on your wiseass remarks...LOL

I hope to have the boat in the the next 2 weeks.
Janine is due May 9th so I want to have it in before that even though we may not be down much the month of May.

Before little K I was always in by the 15th, it's just the past few years had alot going on, going to feel good getting in early this year.

The family and I visited all four marinas today. Too bad you can't rent by the month.

Haverstraw is very nice, professional and corporate. I liked the west dock and there's an easily accessible slip available there.

PennyBridge is real small and very friendly. I liked it, but nothing available for a 40'. If there was it would be tempting with slightly deeper water and great view from the slips.

Patsy's is likewise very friendly, not small, but not big, very personal. Several slips to choose from and all would be great. I think the attention I would get there would be more than any other marina. Being new to boating he'd also give me a lot of room until I got more comfortable. Yes, the waters not always as favorable, but I doubt that would be a big deal for me.

Decisions, decisions...

-Ben

Haverstraw will go you a one month price of 25% of the season to see if you like it and if you decide to stay they apply it to the full season price. If you speak to Mike or Jimmy at Patty's they might be will to work that out as well, the are very eager to please. I'm sure you will be happy where ever you decide.
What did you think of SPBM out of curiosity?

Thanks Dave. Didn't have time to spend at SPBM. I'll head up there tomorrow.
