I am going crazy waiting for the delivery of this boat from Cape Cod to Huntington where we can do the final surveys and close so I thought I would start a thread and formally introduce her.

The "Major Decision" is a 2008 Prestige 42 Fly that was commissioned in April of 2011 by the first/prior owner and with only 2 seasons and 170 hours on her she is as bright and shiny as any new boat I have ever seen (with a couple of exceptions).
She is powered by twin 425hp Cummins 5.9s and has a full complement of Raymarine electronics including autopilot.

The fact that the prior owner had her hull painted the almost the same Imron blue as my Formula was a just a huge plus for us as there is nothing prettier than Imron when it is cleaned up.

The one thing I would say this boat is missing compared to my Formula is easily resolved...the entertainment system is severely lame. With just one head unit with 4 speakers (2 in the salon and 2 on the fly) and only 1 15" TV/DVD combo in the salon, I have a lot of room to make significant improvements in this area. Heck the Formula has like a 1000W system with 7 speaker and a subwoofer and I had installed 2 TV/DVD combos for a total of 3.

Anyway, without further ado, here she is:

Jeff.....NICE....GREAT looking boat. Good Luck with her...........

Good Luck Jeff, she is a real pretty boat, look forward to seeing it this season.

Jeff,

Wow! She is a beauty!

Good luck with the survey!!!

Jeff

Wow! Really nice! When are you going to bring her around from Huntington?

Thanks, again. Walter I can't wait to meet up with you and Dave to check out your new boats (I haven't seen yours yet since you got it)

JVM, I am hoping to leaving her up in Huntington until the first week in April as I am going away for the last week of March and I need some extra time to wire my dock for 50/240.

The nice part is that MarineMax is hiring a Captian for that leg of the journey.

Jeff

Let me know if you need crew to come around. I've never done it and if I'm available when you do it, and you need a hand, I'd like to make the trip with someone who has for my first time.

Jeff,

4 years ago I bought my boat from mike lennon at marinemax in huntington. I went from a 31 to a 41 and that bow looked huge to me. The day before i piloted her from huntington to the south shore, i took a one hour docking lesson from a captain in huntington. While your boat is there, you may want to look this captain up. He was very laid back and in one hour he gave me the confidence to pull the boat out of the slip with confidence - I was ****ting a pill, but I at least I had the basics of how to handle this huge powerful diesel boat in close quarters. She no longer feels any bigger than my 31, but without that lesson, I may have learned the hard way, at another captains insurance cost. If you are interested, let me know and I will try to find his name and number.

Good luck again!

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

I am buying this boat from Mike and I too will be moving from a 31 to a 42 so please see if you can find the name. I'll probably need a lesson...although for some reason I am not worried. Should I be ;)

Thanks for the offer.

JVM, I'll let you know when I have a date set up.

Jeff
