SPBM

rb2@gr5t Audrey II, I spent 4 hours preparing Blackdog for the storm. It paid off... The cement dock split in 2, I had to rig a dock to get over to the boat. I have some scratches and 3 bent fins on the outer duo starboard prop. You?

Thanks Rommer, I am just waitiong to meet with the inspector. Swim platform gone, Canvas shot, a few holes in the hull/top deck and many gouges. Not sure if it will be totalled or not., I guess it depends on the cost of repair VS. Market value.

Congrats to you and Patty on the New (to you) boat, She looks great...

There is a boat, an express cruiser, lights strung around it's bow rail. Those lights were
on tonight. Don't know if someone was on the boat or they are solar power or someting but
I just wanted to mention it in case they are running off the battery, if anyone here knows whose
boat it is could you please check on that?

They were on last week when I went by at night as well.

If its a rinker it's sounds like " Naked Dancer" Sue and Ray's boat they are solar lights.

Had a nice talk with Wayne today:
He is rebuilding the entire marina
He wants it to be an up scale marina.
He will be spending more time there.
He will start the dredging this week.
Build up the land with the silt from the marina up 4 feet higher in the parking lot.
All new cement docks.

I just gave my deposit tp Haverstraw today!

If Wayne does all that he says, I will be back in 2014

He won't be able to use the dredge spoils as landfill. EPA regs . . .

He should complete the clean up before he starts dredging.

I was there yesterday and the yard looks pretty good from a boat standpoint. Obviously there are piles of rubble but I suspect big dumpsters are hard to come by these days. I was disappointed to hear that I would not be able to come back for inside storage as they are going to use the building for a repair shop. I completely understand as this building can hold ten big boats at any time and that can mean a huge business. I know someone is coming in to run the shop but I don't know who yet. As we all said before, one of the biggest problems is going to trying to get your boat repaired if it is not totaled. This could go a long way in helping boaters get their boats fixed.

The cleanup is mostly done. There are sone big debris they won't be able to remove until the boats on stands are moved in the spring. The dredge spoils can be dumped on the same property they came from. Years ago when Wayne owned Patsy's he dredged and dumped the mud up towards the fence. Dredging the channel out to deeper water may be more complicated.

Ken, sorry, but the material from within a marina can no longer be placed out on the same property without testing. Even if he has the permit, to remove it, it is contingent on testing to determine if it is safe. Believe me it is not safe.
I have the DEP reg. #

Never stopped him before. What do you think is under the sand at the children's playground? I would NEVER let my kids, grand-kids or even dogs play there.

I have been swimming in the Hudson for over 30 years I still haven't grown a third eye or something odd like that but I'm still waiting.
I know what's buried on the silt can be far worse! I wonder what will became of this. When Wayne bought the place he said he was going to dredge he did start and was ordered to stop (at least that's what I was told second hand) I'm still waiting to see this happen but I'm not holding my breath.

He should ask the guy who runs Englewood Marina about the consequences of dredging w/o a permit. From what I understand, handcuffs are quite uncomfortable. Riverkeeper and other environmental groups keep a close watch.

I was at the marina yesterday - Styrofoam all over the place from the old docks, rubble all over, boats still in piles. Clean up is far from done. I suppose that dredging will be easier however without docks in the way!

Wayne has never been one to let rules and regulations get in his way. He does what he wants and asks for forgiveness later on. Somehow he gets away with it, go figure.

For example, anybody remember the old tug boat that used to run 24/7 in the marina to blow out the channels?

Gene tried everything to get permission to dredge that place for years with
no luck. I don't know how Wayne could possibly get away with it without going through
the proper channels. Especially since there seems to be so many people around who despise
him I would think anyone of them would just love the opportunity to turn
him in.
Dave, you swam in the river over 30 years ago?? You are a brave man.
