Low tide is still extremely high but at least the wind calmed down to just about nothing. We'll have to keep an eye on the water again tonight. Glad I didn't rush to get the boat in this year.
I went down to Merrick around noon, it was gorgeous out. The water was soo flat, looked like a mirror, no wind, no rain. Woulda been nice weather for a ride, but i'm not dumb, and there was more to come.
I can only imagine the garbage thats going to be floating by the weekend....
just another excuse for the dept waterways not to do there jobs.....
I went over by reynolds where they start placing buoys .. u know weeks ago like the chic o nthe phone said ... i didnt see one MF .. no red ... no green... well i saw red .. but it wasnt a buoy...
Well I broke a ring on the tide bar.( im on a floater)
Boat was double tied to the ring for the bow and double tied as spring.
Boat was fine last nite 10pm... went by tonite.. boats retied and my lines are MIA on the stb side. first thought was someone stole my lines.... lol.... then i noticed the tide rind was missing... but wtf who ever retied the boat should have saved my lines... Im hoping there in the marina office... but why not leave it on my boat... ??
Gees, is there any post I can read that I am not involved in. Dave, Ginny gots the stubs again, needs to shave.
Don, whats up with that mess? I feel out numbered. Rob, has the hamster thing going?
The tide tonight didn't go quite as high as last night or this morning. It's going down slowly now so hopefully this is the last tide we need to worry about.
Don,
the tide bar on the piling has steel rings... my bow line and spring line were tied to it ... It must have broke last nite....
i just hope it didnt hit the boat...
ill know later tonite...
why is it the guys that dont give a crap about there boats and didnt retie/ double tie had no issues... the guy that was down at every high tide retied his boat lost sleep... gets the damage
Rob
Puppy came in the hot tub with me the other day.....the good news, he knows out to swim!
He swam to side...I don't think he liked the hot water though.
Don, that new house by you is still for sale? I just saw it listed on mls.
If you guys need the inside dope on a house, I have the code and password to get into MLS. Full history on a house (this is what brokers and sales people see). Tells you what they bought the house for, the mortgage they have, and alot of other good info to get the real feel on what the house is all about. I can't give you the code, but can give you the info you need.
That really brings back memories Dave. One of ours used to love the hot tub. She'd jump right in and do laps, but you're right in that they're not crazy about the hot water. We had the same response with our lab in the heated pool as he got older. Rough life they have, don't they? Now take good care of Gizmo for Aunt Melanie.
What gives? I thought that house would sell fast.
That is almost a year on the market now.
I bet its becuase its the most expensive house on the block and if you pay top dollar and put anything into it, you won't get it back.
Wow. He must be losing money on it now.
I may be looking again, not sure.
We are realizing more and more that 3000sf is too much for the two of us.
Beyond cute Dave. I can't wait to babysit. Enjoy his "puppyhood." They grow so quickly! BTW,they've expanded the recall to include certain chewies now. Something about salmonella. I signed up with the NIH FDA recall hotline. Anytime there's a recall, they e-mail immediately. Just go to the NIH web-site and sign up. I think Gypsy will be living on steak and chicken for awhile.
Dave......your right....you wanna buy the cheapest house on the block.....but its not the most expensive house at all....2 years ago one (little larger) sold for mid 7's. IMHO it has to do with the taxe$....(NEW is nice)...but deduct your slip expense from your tax cost...and there not that bad. Plus having your boat in your backyard is priceless. Right now I think there's 4 house total for sale.
Mel,
We only feed puppy chow but we have alot of those greenies. I bought a big bag then I read that some people have had bad experinences. My vet recommmended them and he loves them.
