Many boat tranports don't want the liability of the shrink wrap tearing off and causing an accident on the highway or any damage to the boat.

No unusual. The new boats from the factory have really good shrink wrap jobs done to them to minimize this problem. The truckers have been burned too many times by crappy wrap jobs over the years so they insist on no wrap.

Searay, among others send their boats up and down the NJ Turnpike every day shrinkwrapped. Probably isn't a bad idea.

If the hauler will take it with the shrink wrap on, leave it. It keeps the boat alot cleaner. Right now with the sand and salt on the roads from the snow and ice they get really messed up on the road.
 
New boat is in a shed so wrapping is not an issue. Went to see her today. Engine paint job looks great and they start getting put back together this week. Of course, there is always something else that needs doing that will cost more money...sigh.

Old boat will be unwrapped in a few weeks.
 
Well we decided to hold off today, there just wasn't enough sun to heat up the isinglass. I did get most of it put back on but Caryl has to restitch one piece so perhaps tomorrow. We did finish the install of the new windlass and replaced all the anchor rode and chain. put some of the carpets back and did a few other things. At least it wasn't a wasted day.

22 days and counting......

We have our new dink in the basement along with a new outboard for it. The creek is still frozen and it's all ice around the boat still. You folks are lucky!
 
It was too cold for me as well so I decided to take a ride around to the other side of the river. I stopped by Pennybridge and nobody was there. I did see a boat saying:

"Dear Steve

Please do not launch me until May 31st

Butch"

Written right on the shrinkwrap!
 
That was the Caryl-D Chris. The boat next to me had something to do with that. His boat was marked launch before April 1st. Payback will be a bitc-. But he will get his...What time where you there? I got there around 11 and left around 3...did leave to run up the store for a bit.

Well the Caryl-d Saw sun light today. All the shrink wrap is off and eisnglass and canvas is on the boat. Sat up on the bridge looking out over the river and started thing about 5 or 6 years ago and seeing this guy out there with a bayliner running around the power plant. Remind you of anyone you might know Chris....
 
Congratulations, Butch!! I drove by late this afternoon and saw her in all her glory.

I'm uncovering Hogan next weekend.
 
With this weeks weather forecast hoping to get some cleaning out of the way. Sure felt good to sit on the bridge and see the river.. Did you happen to see the eagle hanging around the trees by parrots bay? Its been hanging around there for the last few weeks.
 
That eagle damn near landed on my head a couple of weeks ago....if it was the same one. I was walking my dog out back of Samalot and the eagle came swooping down just as a gust of wind caught it. Flew only about ten feet over my head then went and sat in a tree watching me...or maybe thinking my dog looked tasty.
 
So I uunwrapped, or more acurately, uncoverd my 210 today. Guess what? The Marine Max cover and Marine Max stand offs didn't do anything. My boat is filled with ice and water. Those SOBs better hope that my boat is not damaged. Will find out tomorrow, when I take her out for a cruise. I will be writing a strongly worded letter to management. And yes, the plug was out.
 
Hey Butch, I was only kidding about being at PBM. Saturday, I took my kids bike riding along the Hudson and then we "played" on the new boat. Sunday, I jumped on the old boat to dust it off as best as I could. She still needs a good washing and rug shampoo.

Yes Butch, I remember that guy. In fact, if the SunRunner was on a trailer, I would have been out there yesterday. I'm trying to launch it for sea trial....but she's buried. I hooked up with the more experienced crane operator and he's going to see what it'll take to get her out for March 25th. I'm buried against the fence so we'll probably go outside the club with the crane and pick it from the road, over the fence. Boy, oh boy, nothing's simple.
 
millsan, be very careful, if ice got around the engine blocks, it could have cracked them from the outside.

Check everything with a fine tooth comb!

You where right about the note on my shrink wrap but the date was May 1st. The boat alongside me also had a note saying April 1 or sooner...Some smart as- who will get his soon enough wrote it...Wasn't Hogan either so dont blame him...
 
Rally, I thought rommer was just trying to be funny...guess not. That's a good trick, I think I'll play it on someone at my marina.
